| Afife Senior High Technical School Begins Major Infrastructure Projects in Ketu North |
Sod-Cutting Ceremony to Mark a Turning Point for Afife SHTS
Afife Senior High Technical School will tomorrow, Monday 26th January 2026, witness the sod-cutting ceremony for key infrastructure projects designed to address long-standing challenges at the school.
The scope of work includes two-storey dormitory blocks with courtyards for both girls and boys, a two-storey administration and library block, and a 24-seater toilet facility. Additionally, GETFund has stepped in to take over all abandoned classroom projects on the school campus, signaling a broader effort to restore and expand facilities for effective learning.
Ahead of the ceremony, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, reflected on the difficult conditions students have endured over the years. He acknowledged that while infrastructure deficits affect all Senior High Schools in the constituency, Afife SHTS has been the most pressing, noting that in 2024 he had to personally intervene to create a temporary girls’ dormitory by partitioning an old classroom block.
He described the commencement of the projects as the result of persistent engagement and advocacy, adding that although the procurement process tested patience, the start of work represents meaningful progress. Hon. Agbana also expressed gratitude to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, and GETFund, emphasizing that the development of education in Ketu North is a journey that must be taken step by step.
Tomorrow’s event stands as a clear sign of hope and renewed commitment to the future of Afife Senior High Technical School.
