400 Students Benefit from Ketu North Scholars Award Scheme 2026

A total of 400 students have received support under the second phase of the Ketu North Scholars Award Scheme, a programme created to help academically talented students who face financial difficulties continue their tertiary education.

The initiative, led by Member of Parliament Edem Agbana, provides financial assistance to qualified students studying in public universities across Ghana. Beneficiaries come from different academic backgrounds, including Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as well as other fields of study.

Established in 2025, the scholarship scheme aims to ease the financial pressure on families while motivating students to maintain strong academic performance. The selection process for this second group involved careful evaluation, with many applicants considered before the final list of 400 successful candidates was confirmed.

The programme is part of broader efforts to expand access to higher education and ensure that capable young people are not prevented from achieving their goals due to lack of funds. Many stakeholders believe the initiative will contribute positively to human resource development and the long-term progress of the Ketu North constituency.

Organisers have also emphasized the need for partnerships and continued support from individuals and institutions to ensure the sustainability of the scheme and to increase the number of beneficiaries in future editions.
